Jodie Foster comes out Dec. 10th, 2007 @ 08:42 pm
Towleroad She was amazing in Silence of the Lambs, and the Accused. Anyway, this happened in a really low key way, but she is perhaps the highest paid actor who has ever come out I think.

» Parents attempt to screen out gay roommates
Link Towleroad writes about how parents look at facebook to check out their children's future roommates and complain to the school if the roommate is gay. Gee that sucks.
» New 'Queer Lion' Award at Venice Film Festival
Link Towleroad reports on the new award. It seems cool to have a mainstream film festival create a special category, although I hope a truly good film with gay themes would be able to win the entire film festival like BBM did in 2005.
» New Mexico gays can marry in Massachusetts
Link Massachusetts officials change course. Looks like two states. Too bad Gray Davis was recalled, else it would be three.
» Queerty gets Mike Gravel on HRC gay presidential debate
Queerty bloggers and their readers lobbied Logo and HRC to allow Gravel, one of the more positive candidates on gay issues to attend the Aug 9th debate. Originally he was excluded because he failed to raise enough money. I wonder if this will help distinguish between Clinton and Obama though.

Both Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinick support same-sex marriage, but all other candidates do not.

Others (straights and some weirdo gays) complain about the existence of the political debate on gay issues. I'd say it's just like the candidates going to the Congressional Black Caucus debate.
» Library science
Link Seems like it'd be a cool profession. Not too challenging though perhaps?
» Bill Gates bails out PlanetOut
Towleroad It's great that Gates did that, but I feel a little bad that a straight guy -- albeit, an enormously wealthy one -- had to bail out a pioneering company in gay media.
» McGreevey joins Larry Kramer in Times Sq. Protest

Protest of General Pace's comment that homosexuality is immoral.
Story from Towleroad.

General Pace will be removed as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
» Will Farrell and Sacha Baron Cohen kiss at MTV awards
I didn't watch the show, but Towleroad reports on the action.
» David Hyde Pierce is gay
As reported by Towleroad. Hmmm, can't say that I thought about it much. He was a natural as a sexually ambiguous character on Frasier. Then they decided to hook him up with the housekeeper -- looking back, that was a bit of a stretch. Queerty calls lame the AP press release.
» Gay Flamingos look after abandoned egg
Towleroad followed this story from the animal kingdom.
» MTV Canada shows gay kiss including bad, yet funny reaction
I laughed anyway. Watch it for the punch line.
